About

Callie Collins is a writer and editor from Texas. She cofounded A Strange Object, a small fiction-focused press based in Austin, and she received her MFA from the University of Michigan, where she won several Hopwood Awards. She was a 2018-2019 Zell Postgraduate Fellow in the Helen Zell Writers’ Program and a 2019-2020 Fiction Fellow at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Her first two books—WALK SOFTLY ON THIS HEART OF MINE, a novel, and OTHER NAMES FOR TEXAS, a story collection—are forthcoming from Doubleday. She lives in Austin and plays sandlot baseball for the Cap City Cobras.
